The Department of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery was established at Medwin Hospital in December 2000 to provide quality vascular care to patients suffering from vascular diseases. The Department faculty is trained in comprehensive care for such patients, including medical management, surgery and endovascular interventions. A particular patient is offered the appropriate choice of therapy without any bias since the same team performs all modalities of treatment. The Department is recognized as one of the best in the country today. The Consultants are regularly invited as Faculty for various State and National meetings and to other Asian countries.

Professional work
In the last six years, we have performed nearly 1200 vascular surgical operations and interventions with excellent results. We perform aortic surgery, aneurysm surgery, bypasses for various occlusive diseases, surgery for reno-vascular hypertension, surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome, complex vascular access surgery (for hemodialysis), surgeries for acute ischemia, venous surgery including endovenous laser surgery, interventions in the form of angioplasty, stenting, catheter guided thrombolysis for arterial or venous thrombosis, IVC filter placement. We have extensive experience with vascular emergencies including vascular trauma. Medical therapy and risk factor modification are an integral part of patient management.
