Dr. Skand Kumar concluded six years of Orthopaedic training in the United Kingdom (in November 2006). He was exposed to advanced international experience in Orthopaedics, Joint Replacements and Trauma Surgery. He did Fellowships in the internationally distinguished & specialised Orthopaedic units of Oxford, Brighton, Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow and Birmingham. He has wide experience and competence in primary and revision surgeries of hip & knee joints, complex trauma surgery, lower llimbreconstruction besides routine orthopaedic surgery.

He completed his MBBS in 1994 and MS (Orthopaedics) in 1997 from Banaras Hindu University, India. There after, he worked as senior fellow in Hyderabad and Vanarasi for two years. He got registered with The Medical Council of UK and received extensive training in Orthopaedic subspecialties there. He has accomplished his MRCS from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK.

To be updated with the latest trend in orthopaedics, he has been an active participant in a wide variety of Orthopaedic courses and workshops held in World Centres of Excellence in UK, Europe and India. These include Birmingham Hip Resurfacing Courses (London & Oxford 2006), courses in Hip Arthroplasty (Edinburgh & London 2005), Modern Techiniques Knee Arthoplasty (Harlow & London 2006), AO Fracture Fixation Course (Leeds 2004), External Fixation Course (London 2005) and critical courses (ATLS, ALS, CCrlSP).

He has been principal investigator for numerous research projects in UK, such as "Drains in Joint Replacements", Distal Radius fractures, Talar Neck fractures, Spine injuries and Nerve injuries. These projects were presented and published in various International and European Conferences in Spain, Netherlands, Slovenia and UK.

Dr. Skand Kumar received University Merit Scholarships & Certificate of distinction in Biochemistry at MBBS level. He also won the best poster award in 21st UPIOACON, Jhansi 1997. He has over ten publications in Internationally reputed Journals. He has been participant & faculty in various workshops, conferences and advanced courses in my subspeciality besides teaching & training activities of my hospital.
