Medwin Hospital has a licensed blood bank for whole blood and blood components. Included in the activities of the Blood Bank are Blood and Examination Operations.
The blood bank is fully equipped with refrigerators, deep freezers, cooling centrifuge, tube sealers, platelet incubator and blood collection monitor. Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP), Packed cell and whole blood are supplied regularly to meet the demands of all departments including cardiothoracic surgery and renal transplant unit.

 In Examination Operations, in order to accurately match the transfused blood and the patient, all blood type, cross matching test, and platelet tests are conducted. Careful analyses and all mandatory screening tests are done every day to make sure the blood processed from donors is fit for use.
